Quote from the Breeze: “The next event is the Bonfire and Fireworks display. This event has become so popular that we’re trying something new this year to address the queuing problems we had at last year’s display. We’re moving the catering tents across the road to the field where we have the display and the bonfire. We are purchasing a second large drum barbecue to increase the speed with which we can dish out burgers and sausages and the purchase of a generator this year means that we can provide power and heat to the marquees that will house the bar, barbecue and sweet shop.
Our ‘thing’ with bonfire night is to always run it a week late so that you can attend other displays and still come to the display in your own village (and of course we get the display at half the price we would otherwise have to pay).
The planned date is Saturday 10th November and the fire will be lit at 6.15pm with the firework display planned for 6.30pm. Arrive early as the bar and barbecue will be ready for service from 5.45pm. The firework display is getting a reputation so expect it to be busy and atmospheric. Look out for posters closer to the date as times could change.”
