Calor “Farm” and COMAH

12 tonnes tank

Just in case anyone is concerned about the village Calor tanks located on the South East corner of the estate, there is no need.

They comply with the COMAH regulations. See this email that has been loaded onto the Planning Portal regarding planning document 17/04151/FUL. Basically as the site is limited to 48 tonnes of LPG (12 tonnes per tank{4 tanks}) they fall within the COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) regulations. For clarity see page 22 (where it states if you have more that 50 tonnes you must have regulations in place to satisfy COMAH).

The photograph on the left shows that it was built in 1999 and is in fact 12 tonnes.
