Go-Karting season has started.

Unsure if people are aware – but the Rissi Karting Season has started this weekend. The club meets every first weekend of every month. I can imagine they will need tyre warmers this weekend – brrrrr its cold out there.

  • I bet it was very cold watching. I checked it out from our side of the airfield through binoculars when I was walking Archie (my greyhound).

Certainly looked like it was well attended by the amount of vehicles there.

  • Oh dear 🙁

A GO-KART marshal was injured when a racer lost control of her high-speed vehicle.

The woman, believed to be from Gloucestershire, was monitoring the event at Rissington Kart Club, near Bourton-on-the-Water, just before 11am yesterday.

A competitor hurtled into tyres surrounding the stand, knocking wooden posts which in turn hit the woman.

She was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital, suffering from a suspected fractured leg, but was later released.

The racer, a 20-year-old woman, was uninjured.

  • Wonder where Gemma lives – she seams to be the Wilts & Gloc Standard journalist who reports Upper Rissington stories.

The GO-KART she would be driving IS quick. Glad all are safe though.
