Mains Gas for the old part of Upper Rissington.

When our village was planned to expand with the Victory Fields development, mains gas was promised to the whole village. The resolution in relation to the provision of mains gas to the Village of Upper Rissington has therefore been unfulfilled as part of their obligation.

Can we therefore ask people to contact the Cotswold District Council to ask why there is no resolution in relation to the provision that they will have more incentive to take action?

Consequently, we are requesting that everyone emails Kevin Fields at Cotswold District Council who would like to fight for Mains Gas: Kevin.Field@cotswold.gov.uk

For information: Kevin is out of the office until the 7th March.

Specifically, ask Kevin Fields WHY there is no resolution in relation to the provision of mains gas to the Village of Upper Rissington?

Thanks everyone for your cooperation in this important matter.

  • I have emailed!
This is very close to our heart as we moved into the old part of the village last year to find the price of the LPG by Calor (that we are locked into) is extremely expensive. We need mains gas.

  • This what the Bovis / Linden consultation said – check this website:

Our predecessors explored the feasibility of bringing natural gas to Upper Rissington as part of this development, but found that it was financially unviable to do so. Having reviewed the situation with council officers, there was an agreement that installing new utilities for natural gas was not a realistic prospect.

However, having further explored the possibility of bringing gas to Upper Rissington since acquiring the site, this is now looking like a possibility and is something that we are committed to doing.

We are also committed to upgrading internet facilities in the area and will keep people informed of our progress in this respect.
