Are you a keen gardener? Gloucestershire Heritage Hub needs your help.
The Heritage Hub are now looking for help with their garden – they want to create a wildlife-friendly, attractive and inclusive community garden. Kingsholm suffers from a lack of green space, but has a wonderful community and heritage spirit. Many local people don’t have gardens or access to green space and the Hub’s current garden in bare and uninteresting.
The Hub are raising money for a community garden which can be used and enjoyed by our neighbours, schools and community groups, as well as Hub visitors and staff. The garden would be used be used by people as if it was their own, encouraging animals, birds and insects into a part of Gloucester where wildlife struggles. They want to establish native and heritage plants in the busy city centre too.
The garden design includes an area for beehives, a wildflower meadow, a more formal garden, raised beds, an outdoor education area, a pond and lots of lovely places for people to sit and enjoy the space.
To achieve this, they need to raise £5,000. Here is to the link to their crowdfunder page – https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/546babe926bed6c105d157528809ec63
If you would prefer to not give money, they are also looking for unwanted plants or tools that can help the team maintain the garden. You can even donate your time as they will need lots of help to create and maintain the garden.
