On Thursday 2 May 2019 people across the Cotswolds will go to the polls to vote in elections for District and Parish/Town Councils.
Cotswold District Council is urging residents to make sure they are registered by 12 April to vote on polling day.
Nigel Adams, Returning Officer at CDC, said,
“Residents have to be registered to take part in the elections, otherwise they will miss out on having their say on 2 May.”
“If you’re already registered, you don’t need to re-register to vote. If you’ve already received a polling card then you can be confident that you’re registered. However, if you’ve moved house recently or if you’re unsure whether you’re registered you can check by calling the Council’s Elections Team on 01285 623002 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
“Registering is a very easy process – you can apply online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote(opens in a new window) in just a few minutes. You’ll need your date of birth and national insurance number. Alternatively you can apply using a paper form which can be downloaded from the registration site or requested from the CDC Elections Team on 01285 623002.”
“Anyone not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible and by no later than the Friday 12 April 2019 deadline.”
