Rissington Local History Society – Christmas Tree

Below is a note from Sue Brown of the Rissington Local History Society:

As you know, the church in Great Rissington holds a Christmas tree festival each year and we, as a Society, have a tree beautifully decorated by Margaret and Don Bowie from our committee. The tree is 3ft high from a local grower at Upper Rissington, and is available from Monday 13th for anyone who would like it to decorate their house. All we suggest is a donation to the church fund – if interested please let me know so I can reserve it for you.

The festival is on Friday 10th 6-7pm, Sat 11th 10-5 and Sunday 12.30-5. Do come and see the trees and enjoy homemade cakes and tea/coffee in the church. Hot soup will be served on Saturday at lunchtime as well.

For your information, the road in the village down to the church is being tarmacked this week and into next week, but OPEN over the weekend and Friday evening. So if you see machines in the road, you can be reassured that it is OPEN after 3.30pm weekdays and all day at weekends.

Have a wonderful Christmas.

Regards, Sue
