RLHS: 21st January – The Archaeology of Stowe Landscape Garden

Dear all,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good Christmas Covid free and are rearing to go!! Here are the details of our talk on Friday 21st January @ 2.30pm at UPPER RISSINGTON VILLAGE HALL GL54 2QW.

The Archaeology of Stowe Landscape Garden” by Stephen Wass. Stephen is a researcher and has recently completed his DPhil at Oxford University on the subject of 17C water gardens. He is also an Archaeologist and has been working at Stowe in this capacity to help with the restoration of the gardens at Stowe in Buckinghamshire, owned by the National Trust.

COVID – Due to current recommendations, we would ask those attending to do a lateral flow test on the day of the January meeting. We plan to have the door open for ventilation so please come warmly dressed WITH MASKS. The situation is very fluid at the moment, we will review a few days before we meet and make a final decision then. The speaker is able to present on Zoom so the talk WILL take place either way. We look forward to seeing you there, once again we have booked the large hall at Upper Rissington to enable social distancing.

Many thanks,
Sue Brown
Speaker Secretary
