E-mail received from Rissington Local History Society
It was good to see some of you this evening. Just a reminder that the talk from February – cancelled due to Storm Eunice – will now take place on FRIDAY 25th March at 2.30pm – Upper Rissington VILLAGE HALL. Trevor Jackson will chart the activities of the airfield from WW2, through the cold war, USAF and today’s RAF operations. There has been a lot of interest in this talk, so we are expecting a good turnout.
FORTHCOMING EVENT CHANGES:
April visit: – MEMBERS ONLY
ollowing on from our talk this evening on William Morris and the car industry in Oxford , we had arranged a much postponed visit to the Mini Museum .
The museum has been in touch, and unfortunately they will not be able to host visitors until mid summer . So staying with the motor museum theme, we have arranged a private tour of the British Motor Museum at Gaydon. This would be on the same day as advertised in the programme (April 29th at 2.30pm).
Gaydon is reached by the Fosse Way going towards Warwick, and is about the same distance as travelling to Oxford . The centre has lots of free parking and a restaurant/cafe, so we could have lunch before the tour . The cost for admission to the museum and the private tour will be £13 per person.
Please let Kate know by Friday 25th March if you would like to reserve a place – either by email email@example.com or telephone 07815506770. Remember this is a MEMBERS ONLY visit.
Unfortunately our speaker has had to cancel due to ill health, so we have managed to book another speaker – Melanie King – who will talk on Tea, Coffee and Chocolate: How we fell in love with Caffeine!! More details to follow.
